Leading brand and CPG packaging design agency gelcomm is seeking a senior designer to join the team. We are looking for a seasoned professional with attention to detail, consumer packaged goods experience and ability to ideate and execute complex designs from concept to production-ready designs. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, always-evolving environment for top-tier clients. We highly value hand-drawing skills, with a focus on illustration and package engineering. This position requires a portfolio of package design experience.
Ideal candidates will possess: • Proficiency in consumer goods package design (personal care, food, and beverage, wellness, toys) • Excellent brand development experience (verbal and visual platform experience, presentations, branding, logos, and collateral) • Experience in style guide creation (print to digital, color theory, typography, icons/graphics, patterns, and product development) • A keen eye for strategic insight (industry, consumer segments from pre-school to adult, global and hyper-local market analysis) • A portfolio containing package design examples at a senior level, including an essential proficiency in a mechanical file set up • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to present both internal and external to the client • Leadership qualities in mentoring junior creative staff • High Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop • Passion for trend research and innovation • Active in industry awareness and contribution, speaking, mentoring or teaching is a plus. • Illustration concept / creating skills are a plus. • Undergraduate or graduate degree in design or communication from an accredited university beyond vocational training.
