Handpicked Wines and Australian fashion brand Romance Was Born have teamed up to produce this delightful and refreshing Yarra Valley Rosé. The special label was inspired by Romance Was Born’s entire Electro Orchid collection and collaboration with artist Del Kathryn Barton. Designers Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett visited the Handpicked Cellar Door and instantly bonded with the winemakers over their love of rosé.
“Handpicked Wines shares Romance Was Born’s philosophy of quality curation, creative pairings, and at the core, a playful freedom. We are proud to contribute a special label we designed with dear friend Del Kathryn Barton, and to leave the winemaking up to the experts," said Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales, Romance Was Born.
“The Rosé, made in an unconventional style, is quickly becoming a signature wine in the Handpicked core range—scoring 95 points for the previous 2016 vintage in Wine Companion. The Rosé is part of Handpicked Wines Spring Summer Collection 2018, an eclectic line up featuring lighter style fine wines perfect for summer.”
“This is our most exciting release yet, showcasing a variety of wines we believe are perfect for every summer occasion. There’s everything from site-specific single vineyard wines to experimental releases under the new Trial Batch series—and of course, plenty of savoury, textural Rosé,” said Handpicked Director of Winemaking Peter Dillon.
“The Handpicked philosophy of travelling the world, one wine at a time, can be seen throughout this collection features wines from renowned Australian wine regions including a Pinot Noir from the Mornington, Chardonnay from the Yarra and Grenache from the Barossa Valley. The company aims to release the Spring Summer Collection in Sydney, followed by rollout into key export markets Thailand, Hong Kong, China and USA.”
