Kincsem Kastély inspired by sun and history

A UNESCO World Heritage site, a hilltop castle and the sun, were the inspirations behind this stark and vibrant design for Kincsem Kastély Winery. The historic vineyard – located in the Tokaj region of Hungarian wine country – spreads across three hectares and produces several thousand bottles of craft wine annually. Wine that was being stored on the property’s historic hilltop mansion by the founder. This history was the impetus behind the design and art direction by kissmiklos, which employed a restrained approach by incorporating the property’s stately home and reimagining it as a drawing that serves as the flagship logo-mark adorning every bottle. A branding color scheme was limited to vibrant splashes of yellow, representing the direct link between the sun and good wine. Sometimes less is way more.
"During the designing process, I focused to the castle, transform it to an iconic symbol, that you can find in each bottle as a small sticker. I would like to refer to the traditional handicrafts with this little signet. Yellow is a warm and intense color, as much as the sun, which is indispensable for making good wine."
