Olive Oil Cooperative of Viannos

What could make a product more personal than including the names of everyone who created it on the packaging? Lazy Snail did just that for the Olive Oil Cooperative of Viannos.

“The PDO Viannos olive oil is acknowledged for its excellent quality and unique taste due to semi-mountainous terroir of the area. We drew our inspiration for the packaging from the producers themselves: we painted the bottle and designed a tree, with the names of all producers as its leaves. We wanted to create a simple yet unique and authentic identity for the product.”

The result is surprising for an olive oil bottle. While most feature a clear glass bottle to let the rich, green color of the oil show through, the PDO Viannos olive oil is contained in an opaque black and white bottle.

The tree, delicately drawn to fit in each name of the 65 people who create the product, looks almost like a thumbprint, adding to the specialized, one-of-a-kind feel to it. The text used almost appears to be handwritten and the family tree, also elegantly drawn, lets buyer connect to the product on a deeper, more intimate level — perfect for those looking for more than just a product, but a vivid backstory to go with it.
