Designed by Dan Jobson Creative, Basford Brand’s wanted to refresh their Filigree blinds fabric range to better reflect the companies inherent design, passion and craftsmanship – called Four Families. The driving force behind the project was to provide the blind fabric market, often consider “plain” or “boring” with something original and stylish.
"We wanted to keep it looking bright and modern, while keeping it minimal and sharp. Filigree was originally founded by four families back in Scotland, hence the new name: Four Families. We created a range of collateral based around the companies ethos of originality, craftsmanship and authenticity. Fabric swatch cards, each in it’s own colorful cover, are placed inside an artisanal timber box to create a rainbow effect when seen together. We worked hard to find a sustainable material and a local company who could manufacture our concept for us. We ended up using Chilean pine from certified sustainable forestry and each box is hand assembled in a factory in Dandenong. We really wanted to get right away from that corporate, impersonal feel."
The box also come in a screen printed, hessian bag, as well as supporting collateral including a step by step guide on the how to correctly choose blind fabric.
