The Dieline Awards 2014: Student, 1st Place – Tiny Feather

The panel of judges of The Dieline Awards 2014 have awarded In-young Bae & Shang-lung Yang's Tiny Feather 1st Place in the Student category.

"Providing a pleasant experience for consumers is one of the most important factors for packaging design. And since consumers have pre-experience with the product, packaging design should provide direct associations of product’s features through packaging in the market places to extend and enhance the user experiences.

TINY FEATHER is a tissue box specially designed to fulfill the needs.

Instead of just another regular box with graphic decoration, I designed the package form to be a bird shape structure, and incorporated the tissue to be part of the bird as tail feather to visually and tangibly bring out the idea of “Tissue is soft as bird’s feather.”

To pull out tissue, customers need to open the wing, and to keep the tissue clean, they can simply close the wing cap. This transformable shape provides consumers a special and joyful experience while reaching for tissue.  Also, since the box opens on the side, consumers won’t have to hold the box up side down or reach into the packaging for the last tissue at the bottom of the box."
