Coco Chanel once famously said, "Luxury lies not in richness and ornateness but in the absence of vulgarity." Spanish based Gallén + Ibáñez drew from this quote as their design inspiration for Extrem Puro Extremadura, an exclusive company selling high-quality Iberian meats. The packaging is reminiscent of designer packaging, with a minimal color palette and use of delicate typographic hierarchy.
"We developed for them a visual identity based on the idea that luxury does not lie in wealth or embellishment, but rather, as Coco Chanel said, on the absence of vulgarity. The values of simplicity, exclusivity and quality are the pillars of our design approach for Extrem. We stress those values through graphic elegance, quality materials and unusual printing methods. The packaging of Extrem Puro Extremadura is a 'rara avis' in its market, where luxury is still linked to an strident graphic style based on black, red and gold."
